New Delhi: AAP MP Sanjay Singh sent to judicial custody till October 27

The court has sent Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh, arrested in the Delhi Liquor Policy case, to judicial custody till October 27. Earlier, the court had extended the ED custody of Sanjay Singh till October 13. After the expiry of his custody, he was produced again in the court today.

MP Sanjay Singh approaches Delhi High Court against his arrest

MP Sanjay Singh has also approached the Delhi High Court against his arrest. Singh’s lawyer requested for an immediate hearing from the bench of Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Sanjeev Narula, saying that the ED has not given him proper grounds for arrest.

Accused of taking bribe

The ED had arrested AAP leader Sanjay Singh on October 4 after several hours of raid at his official residence. The next day i.e. on October 5, Rouse Avenue Court sent him to ED custody for five days. During this time, the Central Investigation Agency had claimed that bribes were allegedly taken to benefit some dealers.
