Delhi Metro has given its passengers a reason to smile before Diwali. Now, passengers need not queue for ticket vending machines for QR code-based tickets, easing their travel woes and enabling a completely cashless journey. They can now procure their QR code-based tickets directly on their smartphones.
Easier Ticket Booking Across the Network
Delhi Metro, continually enhancing features like ‘ease in booking tickets’ for passengers across its entire network, has now initiated an easy alternative through the Paytm mobile app by introducing QR code-based ticketing. The facility was launched in the presence of DMRC’s Managing Director, Dr. Vikas Kumar, and Paytm’s Chief Business Officer, Abhay Sharma.
How Does This Facility Work?
With this new feature, passengers can easily obtain their mobile QR tickets on the day of travel under the ‘Metro’ section of the Paytm app by simply entering their starting and final stations. During the journey, passengers can enter and exit by showing their smartphones to the Automated Fare Collection (AFC) gates’ QR code scanners. Previously, this facility was available only on the Airport Express Line.
