JAIPUR: An alert driver of the Udaipur-Jaipur Vande Bharat express stopped the train on time on Monday morning after noticing stones clips placed on the track from where the semi high-speed train crosses, said officials from the northwestern railway.

Officials said that the incident took place after crossing Chittorgarh between Gangarar and Soniyana section.

“At around 9:55 am after the train had crossed Chittorgarh, the driver noticed that stones, pebbles, clips used for connecting tracks were kept on the track and he stopped the train. There was no damage and after it came to light the track was cleared so that the train could pass. Officials visited the spot and inspected the situation, and an enquiry is being done by RPF,” said an official from NWR.

In May, the NWR had recorded 13 instances of stone pelting at Ajmer-Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat train, due to which the glass panes of the train had been damaged.
