Delhi government doctors protest for timely promotion
A group of 60 Delhi government doctors staged a protest outside L-G House on Sunday, demanding timely promotion.
The doctors alleged that they were forcefully removed by the police when they started raising slogans.
These doctors have been awaiting their promotions since December 2018.
Letter to L-G remains unanswered
The doctors had written a letter to the L-G in June this year, but they have not received any response.
One of the protesting doctors, who chose to remain anonymous, stated, “There has been no response on our application hence we decided to reach L-G House.”

In their letter to the L-G, the doctors highlighted that more than 230 doctors of the GDMO sub-cadre of Delhi Health Services have been awaiting their promotions since December 2018.
The doctors urged the L-G to expedite their due promotions, stating that the DPC meeting for their promotion was held in February 2023. However, no action has been taken so far.
They also emphasized that these doctors worked tirelessly during the Covid-19 pandemic without taking any breaks.
