The weather department had predicted thunderstorms with light to moderate intensity rain in Delhi, NCR, and other areas.

Yamuna river level below danger mark
The Yamuna river in Delhi was observed to be just a few centimeters below the danger mark. At 10.00 pm on Tuesday, the water level near the old Yamuna Bridge was recorded at 205.24 meters, slightly below the danger mark of 205.33 meters. The rise in water level has caused concern and created a flood-like situation in the national capital and adjoining regions.
The Yamuna river had been hovering around the danger mark for the past few days, reaching an all-time high of 208.66 meters on July 13. The river crossed the danger mark on July 10 due to heavy rainfall in Delhi. The increase in water level is primarily due to water discharge from the Hathnikund Barrage in Haryana caused by heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
As a result of the rising water level, several low-lying areas in Delhi experienced waterlogging and flood-like situations.
