Priyanka Gandhi speaks at Gwalior rally, highlights major shift in Madhya Pradesh.

BHOPAL: AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi addressed a public gathering in Gwalior, the turf of Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and constituency of Union minister Narendra Singh Tomar. Gandhi focused on the issue of inflation and criticized the Prime Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and Jyotiraditya Scindia during her speech. This is the first public meeting by a member of the Gandhi family since Scindia’s exit from the Congress in March 2020. Gandhi also paid floral tributes to Rani Laxmibai before the meeting. She accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of insulting opposition party leaders and remaining silent on the Manipur violence. Gandhi argued that the common man is suffering from inflation and unemployment while one industrialist is earning Rs 1600 crores per day. She also criticized the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government for patwari recruitment irregularities and alleged that they were involved in scams and arrogance. Gandhi urged the people of Madhya Pradesh to elect a government dedicated to resolving their problems and reiterated the five guarantees of the Congress party if it comes to power. These guarantees include grants for women, affordable gas cylinders, restoration of the old pension scheme for government employees, completion of the farm loan waiver scheme, and free electricity. She also called for an increase in the pension for physically challenged people.
