AAP gains CPI support against Centre’s ordinance, BJP criticizes

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has received support from the Communist Party of India (CPI) against the central government’s ordinance. After meeting with AAP’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, CPI general secretary D Raja announced that his party would strongly oppose the ordinance in Parliament. Kejriwal stated that the ordinance took away the democratic rights of the people of Delhi and accused the BJP of bringing it to run Delhi through the back door, as they cannot win elections in the city.

In response, Delhi Pradesh BJP President Virendra Sachdeva criticized Kejriwal, claiming that his ideology and political color have been exposed. Sachdeva accused Kejriwal of being a communist by heart and having an anarchic working style, calling him a Naxalite anarchist. He also claimed that Kejriwal formed the AAP after understanding that the people of Delhi would never vote for him if he stood as a communist.

Despite BJP’s criticism, AAP continues to gain support against the ordinance, which allows the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi to bypass the elected government and make decisions directly. The ordinance has caused controversy and protests, with opposition parties calling it an attack on democracy.
