Delhi Jal Board has taken a significant step towards resolving the water shortage issue in the capital. The board aims to provide 24-hour drinking water to the consumers and has started its mission from the Akshardham water purifier plant.
Expansion:
The Delhi Jal Board has stepped up its exercise to remove the drinking water shortage in the capital and is making continuous efforts to provide 24-hour water supply in other areas as well. The board supplies drinking water through 10 water purification plants in the capital. Water is supplied 24 hours a day from the Akshardham water purification plant included in these plants.
Initiative:
Many areas have been identified, and pipelines have been pressed to supply water with full pressure. Water arrangements are being made to start water supply in these areas 24 hours a day. These areas include Malviya Nagar, Mehrauli, Najafgarh, Nangloi, among others. The board’s Vice Chairman, Somnath Bharti, inspected Akshardham’s water purification plant and sewerage purification plant on Monday. During this, he understood the functioning of both the plants and checked the water quality.
Pollution-free Yamuna:
The Delhi Jal Board will operate Akshardham Sewerage Treatment Plant at full capacity to make Yamuna pollution-free. In this plant, 10 percent sewerage is being treated against its capacity. In view of this, Deputy Chairman of Water Board Somnath Bharti instructed the officials to operate this plant with full capacity. The drain of the Delhi government passing near this plant will be connected to it by trapping, and the water of the drain will be cleaned in the plant.
