UP CM Yogi Adityanath to plant 1,000 saplings in every gram panchayat to protect the environment
In a bid to protect the environment and avoid its harmful consequences, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that every person must compulsorily behave in an environment-friendly manner. The state government has set a target of planting 35 crore saplings in the upcoming Van Mahotsav to be held in the first week of July, with 1,000 saplings to be planted in every gram panchayat. If every citizen also plants one plant, then 25 crore plants will be visible.
Speaking at the World Environment Day celebrations as the chief guest, Adityanath expressed concern about the environment and said that it has been a concern for 51 years. He emphasized that the environment is a coordinated form of air, earth, water, trees, and plants, and all of us have also been created around these five elements.
Adityanath gave the mantra of Six R’s to protect the environment from plastic and appealed to adopt the formula of Reduce, Recover, Refabricate, Reuse, Recycle, and Repair. He also mentioned that single-use plastic has been banned in the state since 2018 and appealed to stop its use.
