Amazon to increase seller fees and commission charges
What’s happening?
Amazon has announced that it will be increasing its seller fees and commission charges. This means that purchasing items from Amazon will become more expensive from May 31st.
What does this mean?
Amazon’s earnings are largely dependent on seller fees and commission charges. When a product is listed on Amazon, the company charges a fee for its sale and listing. The company is now increasing these charges.
The increase in fees will have the most impact on clothing, beauty products, groceries, and medicines.
How much will prices increase?
According to reports, the seller fee will increase from 5.5% to 12%. This means that for purchases under INR 500, customers will have to pay an extra INR 60. For purchases over INR 500, customers will have to pay an additional 15% of the purchase price, meaning they will have to pay around INR 150. For purchases over INR 1000, customers will have to pay an extra 22.5% of the purchase price, meaning they will have to pay around INR 220-250.
It’s important to note that these changes will come into effect from May 31st. So, if you’re planning to buy something from Amazon, it’s better to do so now before the price increase.
