This decision will benefit around 16 lakh families, and the increase will be applicable with retrospective effect from April 1, 2023. The DA has been increased from 38% to 42%, and it means additional monetary help is given to balance or adjust the decline in the economic condition of employees due to inflation. The government’s decision will put an additional burden of Rs 2,366.82 crore annually on the exchequer.
