DelhiDesk To tackle the issue of monitoring a large number of prisoners in Tihar Jail, three new high-security cells will be constructed. The existing high-security cell is overcrowded, making it difficult to monitor the prisoners. The plan is to keep fewer than twenty prisoners in each new cell to ensure proper monitoring. The jail administration has discovered that locking too many prisoners in the current high-security cell has contributed to the negligence of jail personnel in the murder of a prisoner named Tillu Tajpuria. Tihar jail number eight, the largest high-security cell, currently holds around thirty prisoners, and the administration intends to reduce that number to twenty.
