In a major step aimed at inclusive housing development, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is preparing to launch a new residential plot scheme targeting landless farmers and labourers living in villages across the Yamuna City region. As per the plan, compact plots measuring 30 square meters each will be allotted to eligible residents for building their homes.
Currently, work is underway to identify and prepare around 8,000 such residential plots. This initiative was discussed in detail during a recent meeting between farmer welfare council members and YEIDA officials, including discussions with the CEO.
Allotment Already Completed in Sector 25 for Eight Villages
According to an official letter issued under the name of Council Chairman Sudhir Tyagi, land allotment has already been completed in Sector 25 for farmers from eight villages whose lands were acquired by the authority. The allottees represent about 7% of the affected population.
The list of eligible beneficiaries from other villages has also been released. In areas where land is readily available for developing such 30-meter plots, local reservations are expected to be finalized within 15 days. Development work is projected to commence within the next eight months.
