Banke Bihari 500 Crore New Development Announced For Banke Bihari Corridor. More Facility Coming Now.

In a significant development aimed at boosting religious tourism and improving pilgrim amenities, the Uttar Pradesh Governor has granted approval to the Banke Bihari Temple Trust Ordinance 2025. The ordinance came into effect on Monday and paves the way for the creation of a grand corridor around the iconic Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan, Mathura.

This move follows the state government’s strategic push to upgrade spiritual sites, similar to the development models already implemented in Ayodhya and Kashi. With this new corridor project, the focus now shifts to Mathura-Vrindavan, a major pilgrimage center in Uttar Pradesh.

Comprehensive Infrastructure Plan for Devotees: Roads, Parking, and Accommodation Facilities to be Developed

The proposed corridor will be designed to enhance the overall experience for lakhs of devotees visiting the temple. The infrastructure plan includes the construction of wider roads, designated parking areas, accommodations such as dharamshalas, and upgraded hospital facilities to meet the needs of the pilgrims.

According to officials, the corridor is expected to be developed across five acres of land with an estimated budget of ₹500 crore. The government will also create a dedicated temple fund to manage the expenses of this large-scale religious infrastructure project.

Legal and Administrative Backing Ensures Smooth Execution of Project; Trust to Be Composed of Seven Members

The Supreme Court had earlier given its nod for the construction of the corridor, facilitating the legal clearance needed for the project’s execution. Mathura District Magistrate Mr. S.P. Singh confirmed that suitable compensation will be provided to any individuals affected or displaced during the corridor’s development.

A special trust, known as the Banke Bihari Temple Trust, will oversee all activities related to the project. The trust will consist of seven members, all appointed by the state government. A retired judge will be named as the chairperson of the trust to ensure transparency and fair administration.
