Faridabad, Delhi-NCR — A deeply tragic incident unfolded in Faridabad, Delhi-NCR, where a father, following a dispute with his wife, took the unimaginable step of ending his own life along with those of his four minor children by jumping in front of a moving train.
According to police reports, Manoj Mahto (45), originally from Bihar, was involved in a heated argument with his wife Priya on Tuesday morning. After the altercation, Mahto told his wife that he was taking the children to a park and left the house. However, instead of a family outing, the situation turned fatal.
Witnesses and the train’s loco pilot reported seeing Manoj walking along the railway track about one kilometer from the station, carrying two children on his shoulders and holding the hands of two others. Despite the train’s horn sounding repeatedly as a warning, Manoj did not move away from the track.
At approximately 12:55 PM, Manoj and his four children — Pawan (10), Karu (9), Murli (5), and Chotu (3) — jumped directly in front of the train, resulting in their immediate deaths. Authorities arrived promptly at the scene, recovered the bodies from the tracks, and sent them for post-mortem examination.
