The residents of Ghaziabad are set to experience a significant advancement in public transportation with the inauguration of the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail on Wednesday, 6th March.

This event is particularly momentous as it marks the extension of rapid rail services before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi slated to virtually inaugurate the stretch from Duhai to Modi Nagar North at 10 AM. The inauguration ceremony will be hosted at the Muradnagar station, as officially announced by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC).

Expansion of the Namo Bharat Train

The Namo train will operate along Section 2, extending from the Muradnagar station to Modi Nagar North station, enhancing the rapid rail connectivity in Ghaziabad to a total length of 34 kilometers.

The Ghaziabad district already enjoys the operation of the train along a 17-kilometer segment from Sahibabad to the Duhai Depot.

With this inauguration, the train services will expand to include three new stations: Muradnagar, Modi Nagar South, and Modi Nagar North, facilitating seamless travel across a 34-kilometer stretch with a total of eight stations.

The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Corridor

The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor is an innovative rail-based transit system designed to reduce travel time significantly within the National Capital Region (NCR).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for this pioneering corridor in March 2019, connecting Delhi and Meerut. The operational speed of the Namo Bharat trains is impressive, designed to travel at 180 km/h and operate at a speed of 160 km/h.

The entire 82-kilometer long Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor aims to bring communities closer and shorten distances, promising to reduce the travel time between Delhi and Meerut to under an hour. This corridor is set to revolutionize the regional transit landscape, providing a fast, efficient, and reliable commuting option.

A Leap Towards Modern Transit

The RRTS is a state-of-the-art venture that reflects a significant leap towards modernizing the urban transit system, offering a high-speed, comfortable, and eco-friendly travel option. It stands as a testament to India’s commitment to advancing its urban mobility solutions, paving the way for a future where distances are shortened, and connectivity is enhanced across cities.
