Bihar is set to welcome three pairs of Amrit Bharat Express trains, marking a significant enhancement in the state’s railway infrastructure. These trains are expected to benefit passengers, especially those from North Bihar, as they will connect Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, and Barauni with enhanced rail services.

The introduction of these trains was announced during the Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, symbolizing a leap in India’s rail modernization efforts. Currently, 25 pairs of these trains are ready for deployment from the factory, awaiting distribution across various railway divisions after the completion of necessary formalities.

Operational Highlights of Amrit Bharat Trains:

Presently, two pairs of Amrit Bharat trains are operational in India, with routes including Darbhanga and Malda. These trains are designed for high-speed travel, capable of reaching speeds up to 130 kilometers per hour, a significant upgrade from the earlier limit of 110 km/h.

This enhancement has been supported by substantial upgrades to the railway tracks to accommodate the higher speeds.

Features of the Amrit Bharat Express:

The Amrit Bharat Express is developed based on push-pull technology, similar to the Vande Bharat trains, but aimed at providing affordable, comfortable, and faster travel options to the common man.

Each train is equipped with engines at both ends, enabling higher speed and efficiency. The trains comprise non-AC sleeper coaches and unreserved general compartments, catering to a broad spectrum of passengers.

Upcoming Inaugurations by PM Modi:

In a significant move, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate these three trains during his visit to Bihar on March 2. He will be addressing a public meeting in Begusarai and will virtually flag off the new trains, including the Danapur-Jogbani-Danapur Mail/Express, which will pass through Muzaffarpur Junction, enhancing connectivity across various regions, including the capital Patna and the Mithilanchal area.
