DelhiDesk: Police in Delhi have arrested 13 fraudsters, including three women, on suspicion of cheating customers by offering loans at low interest rates. The gang allegedly ran a fake call centre in Mangolpur Kalan, cheating people out of INR20m ($275,000) over two years. The suspects also allegedly opened fake bank accounts and used fake SIM cards to perpetrate the fraud. Police recovered 13 phones, laptops and 12 registers from the suspects. The group had registered the company in the name of Mahalaxmi Finance and received calls from customers who had taken loans through the Sulekha app.

– Puneet had registered the company in the name of Mahalaxmi Finance and received calls on his mobile from customers who had taken loans through the Sulekha app
– The accused used to collect money in the name of business and personal loans and opened fake bank accounts and used fake SIM cards to commit the fraud
– The accused have cheated people across the country to the tune of Rs 2 crore
– District Deputy Commissioner of Police Harendra Kumar Singh revealed that Puneet and Rahul were the masterminds of the gang.
