The construction of the Chilla Elevated Road has officially begun. This new road aims to ease traffic jams in Delhi and Noida, providing much-needed relief for commuters. The CEO of Noida Authority, Lokesh M., kicked off the project with a traditional coconut-breaking ceremony to honor the land.
Project Details and Costs ๐ฐ
This ambitious project will cost โน624 crore and is expected to be completed in three years. The foundation stone was first laid by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath back in 2019, but construction was halted due to funding issues after spending โน79 crore. Now, the work is back on track, led by Sethu Nigam.
What to Expect from the Elevated Road ๐๏ธ
The Chilla Elevated Road will be a six-lane structure supported by 296 pillars. The first step involves laying the foundation for these pillars, followed by the construction of the upper structure, pending design approval from IIT. Should any design changes be necessary, Sethu Nigam will make the adjustments.
Benefits for Daily Commuters ๐ฆ
Around 5 lakh drivers are expected to benefit from this elevated road daily. It will connect the Chilla border to the expressway, helping about 10 lakh people each day. Six loops will be constructed for easy access to different sectors, making travel smoother and faster.
With this new elevated road, the traffic between Delhi and Noida will see significant improvements, helping thousands of drivers avoid frustrating jams every day.
