Electric Vehicles in India are Evolving 🚗⚡
The electric vehicle (EV) scene in India is changing. It’s not just about personal cars anymore; now, we are seeing a rise in utility-based solutions. Companies like Juperia Auto Private Limited, which is part of East Lohia Auto Industries, are stepping up to meet the growing demand for electric vehicles designed for cargo and waste collection.
Introducing ‘Yuddha’ Brand 🌟
Juperia Auto has launched a new brand called ‘Yuddha’. This brand focuses on institutional and mass-market customers. Meanwhile, the ‘Lohia’ brand will cater to premium customers. This shift shows how the company is adapting to the changing market needs.
Growth in Electric Three-Wheelers 📈
There has been a significant rise in the sales of electric three-wheelers (E3W). In 2024, around 6.94 lakh units were sold, marking an 18% increase from the previous year. The cargo electric vehicle segment alone saw a whopping 45% growth, driven by the demand for e-commerce and last-mile delivery services.
Successful Deployments Across States 🗺️
Juperia Auto has successfully deployed electric waste collection vehicles in states like Delhi-NCR, Andhra Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. Recently, they received an order for 40 electric waste vehicles from DSIIDC, which will be used in the Bawana Industrial Area.
Future Plans and Production Increase 🚀
According to CEO Ayush Lohia, the real opportunity in the EV sector lies in commercial and utility vehicles. In response to the growing demand, Juperia Auto is expanding its Kashipur manufacturing plant and plans to launch new electric loaders and cargo vehicles under the ‘Yuddha’ brand soon. The potential demand for cargo and utility EVs is projected to reach around 93,000 units for FY 2024-25, and it could exceed 1.5 lakh units in the next 4-5 years.
