DelhiDesk: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has stopped printing 2000 rupee notes due to their disappearance from the market and the availability of smaller denomination notes. The demonetisation in 2016 led to the printing of 500 and 2000 rupee notes, but since then, the RBI has not printed new 2000 rupee notes. It is reported that 89% of the 2000 rupee notes issued before March 2017 have disappeared from the market within four to five years, and people are not dependent on them for daily transactions.
