DelhiDesk The Uttarakhand state government has taken a decision to provide proper arrangements for the destitute cows in the state, according to Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Dr. S. Sandhu. The decision was made during a meeting held by Sandhu where officials were instructed to provide facilities for the cows, mark land for the construction of Gaushalas, and run cow shelters through NGOs. The District Magistrates will be given the authority to provide land on lease for gaushalas and to take decisions for the expansion of old gaushalas and the construction of new ones. Municipal Corporations, Municipalities, and Nagar Panchayats will also be covered. Hydraulic vehicles will be arranged in all municipal corporations and municipalities to lift animals without injuring them.
