Police have arrested five accused including three minors in this regard.

The arrested accused have been identified as Rohit Chauhan (22) and Vikas (18). All the five accused are residents of Mumbai. Police recovered 80 fake tickets, five mobile phones, a color printer and other items from them. During interrogation of the police, the accused have revealed that these people used to reach the city where the IPL matches used to take place from Mumbai by train. After that, with the help of color printer and special software, they used to prepare fake IPL tickets and sell them at exorbitant prices. For the last several sessions, the accused have been selling tickets in this way.

Central District Deputy Commissioner of Police Sanjay Kumar Sen said that during the IPL match, his team was getting information about black marketing of tickets. In this episode, a special team was formed while investigating. SI Akhil Chowdhary, Ravi Shankar and others were deputed in the team for investigation. The team created the audience in plain clothes.

With the Indian flag painted on their faces, the team reached outside the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The match between Mumbai Indians and Delhi was to be held here on Tuesday. The police caught a young man named Rohit Chauhan red-handed while selling tickets. When the details of the ticket were taken online, it turned out to be fake.

Later he accepted that the ticket was fake. At the instance of the accused, the other accused Vikas and the remaining three minors were nabbed. All five told that it used to reach the cities of IPL from Mumbai. There, by taking the original ticket, preparing fake tickets like it, they used to sell them easily in the crowd. At the instance of the accused, 80 such tickets, five mobile phones, special software, applications, printers and other items have been recovered. The accused used to sell tickets for Rs 4 to 5 thousand. Police is interrogating them and trying to find out how many tickets these people have sold so far.

Three arrested for blacking IPL tickets

During the action, the Special Wing team caught three accused red-handed while blacking tickets in IPL matches. They were selling Rs 1250 tickets for Rs 4000. SI Akhil Chaudhary’s team was present outside the stadium as spectators. Meanwhile, some people were seen blacking tickets.

The police caught the accused. They have been identified as Daryaganj resident Tarun, Arjun Nagar, Gurugram resident Piyush and Moradabad resident Naseem. Police recovered a total of 24 original tickets from them. These people were selling them in black at an expensive price. The Special Wing handed them over to the IP Estate Police Station. Police has registered the case and started investigation.
