UP Govt: Mathrubhumi Scheme to be Implemented in Cities as well

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that the Mathrubhumi scheme, which was previously implemented only in rural areas, will now also be implemented in urban areas. The scheme has two objectives: to connect people with their roots and to encourage them to do something for their motherland.

On Friday, CM Yogi Adityanath distributed prizes to 370 excellent gram panchayats and laptops to 3,145 gram panchayat secretaries. He also launched the UP Mathrubhumi scheme. The Chief Minister has asked the Panchayati Raj Department to develop a mechanism to track every penny spent on the scheme.

Under the scheme, the government will provide 60 percent of the funds for a project, and the person proposing the project will provide the remaining 40 percent along with the land required for the project.

CM Yogi Adityanath emphasized the need to connect people with their motherland and instill confidence in them to work towards its development. He also mentioned the development of 10 smart municipal corporations under the Smart City program.

The Chief Minister stated that the government is working towards the development of gram panchayats by implementing schemes such as drainage systems, optical fiber, good roads, LED street lights, and computer operators.
