Weather Update: Heavy rains predicted over Gujarat Region on 15th June

– India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains over Gujarat Region on 15th June.
– Heavy to very heavy rainfall also likely at isolated places over Saurashtra and Kutch on 14th June.
– Cyclone Biparjoy likely to make landfall between Kutch district of Gujarat and Karachi in Pakistan on June 15.
– IMD issued a cyclone alert for Saurashtra and Kutch coasts.
– Several parts of Mumbai and Maharashtra received rains, with high tidal waves witnessed in Mumbai.

Rainfall Prediction in states

– IMD has predicted widespread light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls over Northeast India during the next 5 days.
– For Assam, IMD’s Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) in Guwahati has issued ‘Yellow Alert’ for Sunday and Monday, followed by ‘Orange Alerts’ from Tuesday to Thursday.
– In East India, the weather office has predicted light to moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with thunderstorm/lightning/gusty winds very likely over the region during the next 5 days.
– In the Northwest India, the IMD has predicted light to moderate isolated to scattered rainfall accompanies with thunderstorm, lightning, gusty winds very likely over the Northwest India except Uttar Pradesh during the next 5 days.
– Hailstorm very likely at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during 3-4 days.
– Severe thunderstorm with squall very likely over isolated parts of Rajasthan on 15th June.
– In South India, light/moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall with thunderstorm/lightning/gusty winds very likely during the next 5 days.
– Heavy rainfall very likely at isolated places over Kerala during the next 48 hours and over Coastal Karnataka during the next 24 hours.
– Light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning likely to occur in parts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry from 11-15 June.

– Heat wave conditions very likely to continue in isolated pockets over Bihar, Jharkhand and Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 5 days.
– Heat wave over south Haryana-Delhi, south Uttar Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha during 11th to 13th June.
– Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and Telangana likely to experience heatwave on 11th & 12th June.
– Hot and humid conditions very likely over Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada during the next 3 days.
