Skoda is gearing up to launch a brand-new SUV in India next year, and it’s already been seen out and about in testing. While it shares some similarities with its bigger brother, the Kushaq, this upcoming model is set to have its own unique style and features.

Exterior Design

Spy photos reveal a stylish exterior that’s both modern and rugged. The new SUV sports twin-pod LED headlights, a sculpted lower bumper, a clamshell bonnet, and large mirrors with built-in turn signals.

It also has a strong shoulder line, a thick rear pillar, roof rails, and body cladding, all of which give it a crossover look. The back of the car reminds us of the Taigun, especially with its C-shaped LED taillights.

Interior Comfort and Technology

Inside, the SUV seems to borrow some elements from the Kushaq, including the 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a glossy black two-spoke steering wheel, and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. The dashboard and center console look similar as well. Expect comfortable leatherette seats and a stylish two-tone interior design.

Power and Efficiency

The new Skoda SUV is likely to come with a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine that produces 113.98 horsepower and 178 Nm of torque. You’ll have the option of a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, and it’s expected to get between 20 and 22 kilometers per liter of fuel.

Features for Comfort and Safety

Skoda is known for loading up their cars with features, and this SUV is no exception. Expect ventilated seats to keep you cool, wireless charging for your phone, automatic climate control, a sunroof (possibly even a panoramic one), rear AC vents, and more.

On the safety front, it’s expected to have 6 airbags as standard, anti-lock brakes, stability control, a 360-degree camera, parking sensors, tire pressure monitoring, and maybe even some advanced driver assistance features.

Price, Competition, and Launch

With all these features, the new Skoda SUV is estimated to be priced between ₹8 lakhs to ₹15 lakhs. When it launches in March 2025, it will face competition from popular models like the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza and Fronx, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite.
