Mahindra is set to launch its first electric SUV in December 2024. The new SUV will be designed and developed by the company on a new skateboard platform called INGLO.
Additionally, Mahindra plans to introduce four other electric SUVs on this platform, all of which will be released under the E and BE nameplates.
In 2022, Mahindra introduced five electric SUVs, including the XUV.e8, XUV.e9, BE05, BE07, and BE09 concept. The XUV.e8 will be the first electric SUV to be launched in this series.
Size and Dimensions
The upcoming Mahindra XUV.e8 EV SUV will feature some design updates. The front of the SUV will have a connected LED light bar and vertically slanted headlamps.
The rear design will be similar to the ICE model. The dimensions of the XUV.e8 are 4740 mm in length, 1900 mm in width, and 1760 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2762 mm. Compared to the XUV700, the electric SUV is slightly longer, wider, taller, and has a longer wheelbase.
Features and Interior
The cabin of the XUV.e8 will have three large screens in a single panel, along with a two-spoke steering wheel similar to the new Tata Safari model. The SUV will also have a traditional automatic gear selector and a round dial for the driver mode. The central console will have a futuristic design.
Engine and Powertrain
The XUV.e8 will be equipped with a large 80kWh battery, providing a range of over 500 kilometers on a single charge. The SUV will come with an AWD system as standard, and the electric model will generate power ranging from 230bhp to 350bhp.
