Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, during a rally in Kargil, once again claimed that China has taken away India’s land. Gandhi accused the BJP of wanting to take away the land of Ladakhi people and give it to Adani. He criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for denying that China had taken any land in Ladakh, calling it a lie.
Gandhi stated, “Ladakh is a strategic location. One thing is very clear, China has taken away India’s land. It is sad that the PM in the opposition meeting said that not even an inch of Ladakh has been taken by China. This is a lie.” He added, “BJP people know that if you were given representation then they will not be able to take away your land, this is all about land. They (BJP) want to take away your land and give it to Adani so that he can set up his plant, but don’t share the benefits with you. But we will never let this happen.”
Last week, Gandhi had made similar remarks, stating that the Chinese Army had intruded and taken over grazing land in Ladakh. The Congress leader’s repeated claims have drawn sharp criticism from the BJP.
BJP MP Dr Sudhanshu Trivedi responded to Gandhi’s allegations, saying, “We want to clear their (Congress Govt) relationship with China and our relationship with China. After our Govt came under the leadership of PM Modi, in 2020, a think tank from Beijing said that ‘China is passing through its worst diplomatic isolation post-Tiananmen Square’…I don’t understand why time and again Congress MP Rahul Gandhi showers love on the talks by China. During Doklam, the food he had with the Chinese Ambassador was not revealed by him but by a photo shared by China.”
