Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Launch ‘Sankalp Saptaah’ Programme for Aspirational Blocks
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch a week-long programme called ‘Sankalp Saptaah’ for the country’s aspirational blocks at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Saturday. This programme aims to enhance the quality of life for people living in these blocks.
Programme Details
The ‘Sankalp Saptaah’ programme is closely aligned with the nationwide Aspirational Blocks Programme (ABP), which was launched by Modi in January this year. It will be implemented in 500 aspirational blocks across 329 districts in the country.
To facilitate the successful implementation of the ABP and develop robust block strategies, ‘chintan shivirs’ were conducted at village and block levels across the nation. The ‘Sankalp Saptaah’ is the culmination of these deliberations and will be observed in all of the 500 aspirational blocks.
Development Themes
Each day during the week-long programme, from October 3 to October 9, will be dedicated to a specific development theme. The themes include ‘Sampoorna Swasthya’ (Holistic Health), ‘Suposhit Pariwaar’ (Healthy Family), ‘Swachhta’ (Cleanliness), ‘Krishi’ (Agriculture), ‘Shiksha’ (Education), and ‘Samridhi Diwas’ (Prosperity Day).
Grand Finale
The last day of the programme, October 9, will be a celebration of the work conducted throughout the week, known as ‘Sankalp Saptaah – Samavesh Samaroh’.
Inaugural Event
The inaugural event at Bharat Mandapam will witness the participation of approximately 3,000 panchayat and block-level representatives and functionaries, along with about two lakh people from various walks of life, joining virtually.
Conclusion
The ‘Sankalp Saptaah’ programme aims to improve governance at the block level and enhance the quality of life for citizens in aspirational blocks. It is an important step towards achieving the goals set by the Aspirational Blocks Programme.
