NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi lashed out at the opposition during his reply to the no-confidence motion debate on Thursday. He humorously remarked that opposition leaders have received a secret blessing, which is that whenever they wish bad upon someone, that individual always benefits. PM Modi gave three examples to support his claim.

Firstly, he mentioned that despite the opposition’s attempts to question India’s banking sector, their profits have actually doubled. He stated that when the opposition wished ill for the banks and spread negativity, the public sector banks flourished instead.

Secondly, PM Modi highlighted that when the opposition tried to criticize Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), it recorded its highest ever revenue. Despite the opposition’s attempts to incite the workers and spread negativity, HAL is now flourishing and has become a source of pride for the country.

Lastly, the Prime Minister mentioned that the opposition also tried to criticize LIC (Life Insurance Corporation), but it is now growing stronger day by day.

During his speech in Parliament, PM Modi also expressed his confidence in the no-confidence motion against his government. He stated that it is auspicious for him and that the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) will return with an even bigger mandate in the 2024 elections.
