PM Modi responds to no-confidence motion in Lok Sabha, criticizes opposition’s desire for power.

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded to the opposition’s charges during the debate on the no-confidence motion against his government. In his reply, PM Modi thanked the opposition for bringing the motion and expressed confidence that both the BJP and the NDA will return to power with record numbers. He criticized the opposition for not being prepared for the debate and accused them of staying away from discussions on important Bills in Parliament. PM Modi highlighted the achievements of his government, including taking India’s reputation to greater heights and reducing poverty in the country. He also singled out the Congress, stating that the people of India have no confidence in the party. The Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, took a jibe at the Congress government’s slogan of “Garibi Hatao” and emphasized the positive growth of the Indian economy under the Modi government. Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra criticized the government over the Manipur issue and questioned the Prime Minister’s absence from the Parliament. The no-confidence motion was seen as an opportunity to break the code of silence on Manipur. Overall, PM Modi’s response highlighted the government’s accomplishments and criticized the opposition for their lack of preparation and arrogance.
