DelhiDesk Patients at the Orthopedic Department of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Delhi are concerned about the lack of adequate facilities for surgeries. The department is using a CRM machine on loan from the anesthesia department to perform operations, which has broken down several times. As a result, complex surgeries have become challenging for patients. Additionally, due to a lack of sufficient facilities, only one operation table is being used in the department, while two tables lie closed in the trauma center. Doctors have expressed concerns about the risk of infection in patients, as emergency trauma surgery and pre-proposed surgery have to be done on the same operation table. The autoclave, which sterilizes equipment, is also faulty, and only one light on the operation theater table is working.
