Nigerian Citizen Escapes from Police Custody in New Delhi
New Delhi. A Nigerian citizen who had come for treatment at a hospital in Narela area escaped from police custody. The incident occurred on Saturday and an FIR has been registered under the Foreigners Act and Section 188 based on the complaint of FRRO’s ASI.
A senior police officer revealed that the escaped individual, identified as 29-year-old Isaiah, is a resident of Nigeria. He was discovered wandering in Chanakyapuri by the police on May 8th. As he did not possess valid documents to stay in India, he was taken to FRRO’s Lampur Seva Sadan located in Narela. The process to repatriate him to his home country had already begun. However, on Saturday, Isaiah complained of chest pain.
Escape from Hospital
FRRO’s ASI Pawan and Head Constable Sunil Isaiah, along with another Nigerian national, accompanied Isaiah to Satyavadi Raja Harishchandra Hospital. Seizing the opportunity in a crowded situation, Isaiah managed to escape by eluding the policemen. Following his disappearance, FRRO filed a complaint with the Narela police station. The image of the escaped Nigerian citizen is now circulating widely.
