E-Buses Set to Transform Public Transport in Noida
Starting from the new year, Noida is gearing up to launch a fleet of 500 electric buses that will operate on 24 different routes throughout the district. This initiative aims to enhance the public transport system and promote eco-friendly travel options for residents. The buses will be managed collaboratively by the authorities of Noida, Greater Noida, and Yamuna, ensuring that the responsibilities are clearly defined among them.
Plans for Smooth Operations Ahead of Airport Launch
During a recent online meeting chaired by the State Chief Secretary, discussions focused on ensuring these e-buses are fully operational before flights begin at the upcoming Noida International Airport. This timing is crucial, as it aligns with the broader goal of improving transportation access to the airport. Officials revealed that the tender for the e-buses will be issued next month, paving the way for the project to move forward.
Routes Planned for Efficient Coverage
The planned routes for these electric buses are designed to cater to the needs of residents in the region. Specifically, 13 routes will be established in Noida, nine in Greater Noida, and two routes in Yamuna City. This strategic distribution will help connect various neighborhoods and enhance overall accessibility. With the routes already determined, the authorities are optimistic about the positive impact these e-buses will have on daily commuting and the environment.
