Good news for businesses! The country’s oil companies have reduced the prices of LPG gas. OMCs have cut the price of the 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder by ₹69.50. The new prices are effective starting today. However, there’s no change in the price of domestic cylinders.
Airlines Breathe Easy
Airline companies are also getting a significant break. The cost of aviation fuel has been reduced, making air travel potentially cheaper during this scorching summer.
OMCs have slashed the price of aviation fuel by ₹6673.87 per kiloliter. These new rates are effective from today. Last month, prices had gone up by ₹749.25 per kiloliter, while in April, there was a reduction of around ₹502.91 per kiloliter. In March, prices had increased by ₹624.37 per kiloliter.
Government Offers Relief
The government has provided some relief by reducing the windfall tax on crude petroleum. The Special Additional Excise Duty (SAED) has been cut from ₹5700 per ton to ₹5200 per ton. These new rates have been in effect since June 1, 2024.
