The traffic plan in New Delhi has been significantly altered to accommodate the Beating Retreat Ceremony. This change primarily affects bus routes leading to the Central Secretariat, Connaught Place, and other key areas in the city.

Revised Bus Routes

  • Buses towards Central Secretariat & Connaught Place: Buses usually traveling via Shanti Path, Vinay Marg, and Sardar Patel Marg will now reroute through Panchsheel Marg, Simon Bolivar Marg, Vande Mataram Marg, Shankar Road, and Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Road.
  • Central Secretariat-bound Buses: Buses heading towards the Central Secretariat will conclude their journey on Udyog Marg, returning via Kali Bari Marg, Mandir Marg, and Shankar Road.


  • Connaught Place-bound Buses: These buses will approach via Mandir Marg, Kali Bari Marg, GPO, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, and on return, take Bhagat Singh Marg, Peshwa Road, Mandir Marg, Shankar Road, and Vande Mataram Marg.


  • South Delhi to Central Secretariat & Connaught Place: Buses from South Delhi will travel via Aurobindo Chowk, Safdarjung Road, Kamal Ataturk Marg, Panchsheel Marg, Simon Bolivar Marg, Vande Mataram Marg, Shankar Road, and Sheikh Rahman Road.
  • Mandi House and Firoz Shah Road to Connaught Place: Buses will navigate through Barakhamba Road and end at Shivaji Stadium.


  • South Delhi to Old Delhi Railway Station & Red Fort: These buses will use the route from AIIMS through Ring Road, Dhaula Kuan, Ridge Road, and Rani Jhansi Road.
  • Ashram to Old Delhi Station: Buses from Ashram will proceed via Ashram Chowk, Ring Road, Sarai Kale Khan, and Rajghat.
