In preparation for the Kanwar Yatra during the month of Sawan, heavy vehicles will be banned on the Delhi-Dehradun Highway starting the night of 21st July.
A meeting was held in Meerut on Thursday to finalize the traffic plan for the Kanwar Yatra, which begins on 22nd July. Officials from both Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand were present. The plan will receive final approval during a joint meeting of four states on 6th July.
Traffic Restrictions and Dates to Note:
- 21st July: From midnight, heavy vehicles will be banned on the highway and all Kanwar routes.
- 25th July: From night, Kanwar routes will become one-way.
- 27th July: From night, light vehicles from Haridwar on National Highway 58 will also be banned.
29th July to 4th August:
From midnight, only Kanwariyas will be allowed on NH-58, Kanwar Patari Marg, and Delhi-Meerut Expressway. The traffic diversion plan will be implemented from midnight on the respective dates.
