Maruti Suzuki, the automotive giant, has broadened its Fronx lineup in the domestic market by introducing a new variant โ€“ the Delta Plus (O). Priced at Rs. 8.93 lakh for the manual version and Rs. 9.43 lakh for the AMT transmission (both ex-showroom prices), this new addition is priced at a Rs. 15,000 premium over the standard Delta Plus variant.

With this new variant, Maruti Suzuki aims to cater to the safety-conscious consumers by offering six airbags, making it the most affordable model within the Fronx lineup to boast such a feature.

Enhanced Safety and Affordability

The Delta Plus (O) variant stands out in the Fronx lineup due to its enhanced safety measures. While the standard Delta Plus variant is equipped with only two airbags, the new Delta Plus (O) comes with six airbags and a puncture repair kit, justifying the Rs. 15,000 price increase. This makes the Delta Plus (O) Rs. 1.6 lakh cheaper than the next variant in the lineup that offers six airbags, making it a highly attractive option for budget-conscious buyers who do not want to compromise on safety.

Specifications and Powertrain

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is available in five trim levels: Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta, and Alpha. The new Delta Plus (O) variant is powered by a 1.2L four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, delivering a maximum power output of 90 PS and a peak torque of 113 Nm. Customers can choose between a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT transmission, providing flexibility based on their driving preferences.

A Look into the Maruti Suzuki Fronx

Since its market debut early last year, the compact SUV coupe, inspired by the Baleno premium hatchback and sharing the same Heartect platform, has garnered significant attention. Its sleek design and robust performance, along with the return of the 1.0L three-cylinder turbo petrol engine, have further augmented its appeal.

Currently, Maruti Suzuki holds the title of the top-selling passenger UV maker in the country, thanks to its impressive lineup of SUVs โ€“ including the Fronx, Brezza, and Grand Vitara. The introduction of the Delta Plus (O) variant is expected to further solidify this status, offering consumers increased variety and more advanced safety features at an accessible price.

Features of the Delta Plus (O) Variant

Apart from the additional airbags, the Delta Plus (O) variant comes loaded with numerous features intended to enhance driving comfort and convenience:

  • A seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • A four-speaker audio system
  • Automatic air conditioning (AC)
  • Day/night IRVM (Interior Rear View Mirror)
  • Three-point seat belts
  • ISOFIX child seat mounts
  • ESC (Electronic Stability Program)
  • HHA (Hill Hold Assist)

Meanwhile, the Delta Plus variant is also available with a 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine, producing approximately 100 PS and 148 Nm of torque, catering to those who crave a little more power.
