Korean automaker Kia Motors has unveiled its fourth electric car, the EV3, following the success of the EV9, EV6, and EV5. This new electric SUV is based on Kia’s E-GMP modular platform, similar to its other electric models. Kia claims that the EV3 can travel up to 600 kilometers on a full charge.

  • Korea: The Kia EV3 is set to launch in Korea by July 2024.
  • Europe: After its Korean debut, it will be introduced in the European market.

The production version of the Kia EV3 looks quite similar to the concept model presented in 2023. Here are some design highlights:

  • Front: It features a closed grille with a small slit functioning as an air intake, L-shaped LED DRLs, and LED headlights. The bumper has a practically designed air dam with a silver skid plate.
  • Side Profile: The side profile includes conventional outside rearview mirrors, thick body cladding, squared wheel arches, and a sloping roofline. Inverted aerodynamic alloy wheels give the SUV a funky look.
  • Rear: The rear sports L-shaped LED taillights connected by a plastic element, a raked windshield, and ‘GT’ badging. The GT version will have black-finished silver exterior elements, a distinct bumper design, and sporty alloy wheels.

The Kia EV3 will be available with two battery pack options in the international market:

  • Standard Variant: 58.3 kWh battery pack.
  • Long-Range Variant: 81.4 kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 600 kilometers on a full charge.
  • Charging: While detailed charging specs are not yet available, it’s expected to support DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in just 31 minutes. The smaller battery pack supports up to 102 kW fast charging, and the larger pack supports up to 128 kW fast charging.


Additional Features

  • Vehicle-to-Load (V2L): This feature allows the car to charge other electric devices.
  • Single Pedal Drive Mode: Like modern electric cars, it features a single pedal drive mode.
