DelhiDesk Efforts have begun to curb the disposal of religious waste into the polluted Yamuna river in Delhi. Lieutenant Governor of Delhi VK Saxena is leading this campaign and is urging religious leaders from various places of worship to join the initiative. Muslim religious leaders and priests from churches have issued messages advising people not to dump garbage into the river. The pastor of the church has also requested all churches in Delhi to support the Lieutenant Governor’s efforts in rejuvenating the Yamuna river and clearing the garbage pileup. The circular appeals to people to not throw garbage in the river, separate dry and wet waste in their homes, join the recycling campaign, and avoid dumping garbage in open drains and manholes.
