To cater to customers who prefer automatic transmission, Jeep might introduce new lower variants with automatic transmission or add this feature to the existing lower variants.
★Compass can be introduced with 4×2 powertrain: Currently, the Compass is available in four trims, out of which only the Limited and S variants come with automatic transmissions. However, these variants also come with 4×4 capabilities, which significantly raises the price. It is anticipated that Jeep will introduce a new variant with a 4×2 powertrain to offer a more affordable option.
★Possible updates: Along with the introduction of new variants, Jeep might also update the Compass and Meridian with minor changes such as new bumpers, grille, and alloy wheels. There could also be some minor updates to the interior, such as new upholstery or themes.
★2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine: Currently, the Compass and Meridian models are only available with a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine, which generates 168bhp of power and 350Nm of torque. It can be paired with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
