Pollution check fees have been increased in New Delhi, with vehicle owners now having to pay more to get their vehicles tested for pollution. After the strike by the Delhi Petrol Dealers Association, the government has issued a notification with new rates. Following this, all pollution check centers in Delhi have implemented the new rates. For two-wheelers, vehicle owners will now have to pay an extra Rs 15, for four-wheelers running on petrol an extra Rs 35, and for diesel vehicles an extra Rs 47. The previous and current rates were Rs 60 and now Rs 140 for two-wheelers, Rs 110 and now Rs 100 for four-wheelers running on petrol, and Rs 80 and now Rs 80 for four-wheelers running on diesel (figures in rupees, with the increased rates subject to an additional 18% GST). The Delhi Petrol Dealers Association had demanded an increase in fees due to the rising costs of operating pollution check centers. The Secretary of the Delhi Petrol Dealers Association, Bibek Banerjee, explained that a notification was issued by the Delhi Transport Department on August 20. The new rates came into effect the following day. 🚗🛵🌿🔬
