Salve and his ex-wife Meenakshi got divorced after being married for 38 years, finalizing their separation in June 2020. Together, they have two daughters named Sakshi and Saaniya.

Harish Salve, who is 68 years old, is a well-known advocate practicing at the Supreme Court of India. He has been involved in several high-profile cases, including representing Kulbhushan Jadhav, who was sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court on charges of spying. Salve’s remarkable gesture of charging only ₹1 as his legal fees earned him praise and admiration.
Some of Salve’s prominent clients include Tata Group, Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries, and ITC Group. He has also appeared in the Krishna Godavari Basin gas dispute case against Anil Ambani’s Reliance Natural Resources Ltd.
Salve gained fame for arguing the first anti-dumping case in the Supreme Court of India. He also took up Salman Khan’s hit-and-run case of 2002, successfully securing his acquittal from all charges in 2015. Additionally, Salve served as the Solicitor General of India from November 1999 to November 2002 and was appointed as the Queen’s Counsel for the courts of Wales and England in January.
Salve completed his LL.B. from Nagpur University and became a senior advocate at the Delhi High Court in 1992. In 2013, he was called to Blackstone Chambers and appointed to the English Bar.
