A Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable shot dead four people on board the Jaipur-Mumbai Express (12956) while the train was running between Bhayander and Mira Road stations on Monday, according to an official. The deceased include two passengers, an RPF assistant sub-inspector (ASI), and a pantry car worker. The bodies were removed from the train at Borivali station and sent to Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital at Kandivali.
Constable Holds Passengers at Gunpoint
According to Western Railway officials, the incident occurred in the B5 coach at around 5:23 am. After shooting his colleague, Constable Chetan Kumar initially held passengers at gunpoint. He got down near Dahisar station and attempted to flee after pulling the alarm chain.

The accused constable was detained with the weapon at Mira Road by the Government Railway Police (GRP). Police stated that his mental health condition was not okay. He was part of the escorting team on the train and was carrying an automatic weapon. He had complained of restlessness and was asked to rest. Later, he had claimed to be okay.
Investigation Underway
Top officials, including GRP commissioner Ravindra Shisve, reached the location to investigate the incident. The police are currently investigating the trigger for the shootings.
