Delhi Transport Department Starts Campaign Against Polluting Vehicles
New Delhi ★The Delhi Transport Department has launched a campaign against polluting vehicles in the city. This initiative aims to crack down not only on vehicles without a valid pollution check certificate (PUC), but also on 10-year-old diesel vehicles and 15-year-old petrol vehicles.
According to the Transport Department officials, there are still more than 10 percent of vehicles in Delhi without a valid PUC. To tackle this issue, over 80 teams have been deployed on various roads, particularly those with high pollution levels. The department has identified pollution hotspots to focus their efforts.
The teams will not only issue challans to vehicles without valid pollution test certificates, but also take action against vehicles with clear smoke emissions. The Transport Department’s data reveals that more than 10 percent of vehicles do not undergo PUC checks on time.

These cameras have been operational since September 21 and have already checked 3,000 vehicles in the past ten days. Out of these, more than 300 vehicles did not possess a valid pollution test certificate, and they were issued challans accordingly.
