DELHI, INDIA – May 10, 2023: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced today that Gate No. 5 at Central Secretariat Metro Station will be temporarily closed on Thursday, May 11, 2023. The announcement was made through DMRC’s official Twitter account.

The tweet read, “Service Update: Entry/exit from Gate No 5 at Central Secretariat Metro Station will remain closed from 11/05/2023 (Thursday). Passengers can use Gate No 1 & 2 for entry/exit.”

The reasons for the closure were not immediately specified in the tweet, leaving commuters in search of reasons for the sudden change. It’s not clear how long the service interruption will last or if it’s part of a larger maintenance project.

The Central Secretariat station is a crucial junction in the Delhi Metro network, serving as the interchange for the Yellow and Violet Lines. As such, this closure may affect a significant number of daily commuters who rely on this station for transit.

However, the DMRC has assured passengers that they can continue to use Gate No. 1 and Gate No. 2 for entry and exit purposes, thus minimizing the inconvenience to the traveling public.

The DMRC has always been prompt in announcing service updates to its commuters, ensuring they have the necessary information to plan their travel. This latest service update is no different, providing metro users with advance notice so they can adjust their routes accordingly.

Commuters are encouraged to follow DMRC’s Twitter handle and official website for real-time updates and further information regarding this service interruption.

Despite the temporary closure of Gate No. 5, it is expected that the smooth operation of the Central Secretariat Metro Station will continue, with other entry and exit points remaining fully operational.

The DMRC requests that all passengers take note of this change and plan their commute accordingly. As always, the DMRC appreciates the understanding and cooperation of all its commuters as it continues to maintain and improve the Delhi Metro network.
