Delhi University Opens Admissions for Engineering Courses
The Delhi University (DU) has initiated the enrollment process for admissions to engineering courses. This year, the University of Delhi is offering three Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degrees in computer science and engineering, electronics and communication engineering, and electrical engineering. The admission process will be based on the All India Common Rank List (CRL) of the Joint Entrance Examination (Main).
Online Application Process
Candidates interested in applying for the engineering courses at Delhi University must complete the online application process through the official website http://engineering.uod.ac.in. During the application process, candidates will be required to pay a one-time, non-refundable registration and allocation fee. General and non-creamy layer OBC candidates will be charged Rs. 1,500, while SC/ST candidates will be charged Rs. 1,200.
Registration and Preference Submission
To register, candidates need to provide their JEE (Main)-2023 application number, applicant name (as stated in JEE (Main)-2023), and date of birth. After successful registration, candidates must log in to their dashboard to provide personal information, academic information, and program preferences. The allocation of seats will be determined based on the submitted preference order.
MCD Yet to Complete Desilting of Drains
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has not yet finished the desilting process of drains under its jurisdiction. During an MCD House meeting on June 9, the civic body’s engineering wing announced that only 55% of the corporation’s 700 larger drains had been cleaned by that time. The initial deadline for completing the desilting process was June 15, which was not met. Subsequently, the MCD stated on June 20 that desilting of small drains is 80% complete and that all drains should be desilted by June 28.
MCD Mayor Shelly Oberoi emphasized the importance of completing the drain cleaning work by June 28 to prevent waterlogging in Delhi. She highlighted the need for serious efforts at the zonal level to protect the city from potential flooding.
