DelhiDesk The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning about the formation of a cyclonic storm named Mocha over the Bay of Bengal. The storm is expected to hit the east coast of India in one to two days and turn into a depression and a cyclonic storm on May 9. The IMD has also warned of torrential rains in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha from May 8 to May 12 due to Mocha. The weather office has advised fishermen to return to safer places before May 7 in the southeast Bay of Bengal and before May 9 in the central Bay of Bengal. The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are predicted to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall and gusty winds from May 8 to May 12. The IMD has issued a ‘Rain Watch’ alert for the districts of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha between May 7 and 9.
