Court premises will have an e-service center following approval from the Cabinet.

The Union Cabinet has given its approval for the third phase of the e-Court Mission Mode, aimed at making courts paperless across the country. As part of this phase, 4400 e-service centers will be established within court premises. The objective is to enhance efficiency and speed up the disposal of case information, challans, and other legal records. The project is estimated to cost Rs 7210 crore.

Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur highlighted the government’s commitment to digitize the judicial system while announcing the cabinet’s decision. The first two phases of the e-Court Mission Mode have already seen the digitization of more than 18,000 courts. The implementation of the third phase will further expand the use of e-filing, e-payment, and video conferencing systems, in addition to enabling live streaming.
