If there’s one thing that defines Patna’s daily rhythm, it’s the constant flow of thousands of passengers heading to Delhi. Every day, it seems like an endless wave of travelers making their way to the capital city.
Despite the numerous trains already operating on this route, ticket demand always remains sky-high. But here’s some good news for those frequent travelers: a new superfast train named Amrit Bharat Express is about to make their journey a whole lot easier.
Zooming at 130 km/h: A Superfast Journey
The Amrit Bharat Express promises to cover the Patna-Delhi distance in just 12 hours, thanks to its impressive speed of 130 km/h and limited stops. The demand for this train’s rack has already been placed, and it’s expected to start operating this year. This new addition joins the ranks of other prominent trains like the Rajdhani Express, Sampark Kranti Express, and Vande Bharat Express.
Comfort and Convenience: Top-Notch Facilities
Amrit Bharat Express is designed to offer a comfortable and convenient journey. With 22 coaches featuring both general and second class, the train ensures that passengers have everything they need. Special arrangements have been made for differently-abled travelers.
The seats are more comfortable compared to regular trains, and all coaches are interconnected, allowing easy movement between compartments. Additional amenities include vacuum washrooms, sensor taps, advanced lighting, and display boards for passenger information.
A New Era for Non-AC Travel
In a significant move, Indian Railways plans to introduce 10,000 non-AC coaches over the next two years, making travel more accessible for the general public.
The Amrit Bharat Express is part of this initiative, entirely focused on serving non-AC sleeper class passengers. Painted in a distinctive orange and grey color scheme, the train will feature eight general coaches, twelve second-class coaches, and two guard compartments.
Affordable and Accessible
Despite being a non-AC train, the Amrit Bharat Express will offer a slightly higher fare, estimated to be 15-17% more than other trains. However, its speed and convenience make it a competitive alternative to air travel for those looking to reach Delhi quickly.
Indian Railways aims to produce 2,605 general coaches and 1,470 sleeper coaches for this service by 2024-25, ensuring that this train remains dedicated to the common man’s needs.
